1. Apricot Best Practices & Reporting Workshop (All-Access Pass Required)

Dr. Paul St. Roseman, Director of Learning & Evaluation at First Place for Youth will be leading a 3-hour workshop in conjunction with our Training Team on instituting best practices in data collection and outcomes management using the Apricot system. It is intended for leaders interested in focusing on the right data, promoting a data-driven culture, and designing and using meaningful reports. This session will include a combination of lecture, demonstrations, and interactive discussion on reporting best practices for Apricot users.

2. ETO Advanced Reporting Workshop (All-Access Pass Required)

Our ETO Results experts will be leading a 3-hour workshop on reporting best practices. The workshop will cover how to configure your system with both outputs and outcomes reporting in mind, how to utilize intermediate to advanced features, and how to avoid common pitfalls when creating reports. From outputs and outcomes to measuring and managing, we’ll be breaking down the key terms, methods, and ways to get started with performance management. This is the perfect introductory session for those that are ready to do more with data and become high-performing organizations.

2. A Focus on Public Policy and the Sector

Presented by Capital IDEA

Steven Jackobs and Eva Rios-Lleverino from Capital IDEA will lead a discussion on the state of the nonprofit arena as it relates to public policy. They will discuss current and projected trends in the sector, at the local, state, and federal levels with particular focus on workforce development.

3. Introduction to the New & Improved ETO Results (Business Objects 4.2)

This session will explore what all the new and improved ETO Results platform has to offer. From navigating the new interface to learning about enhanced reporting features, this session will get you up to speed on one of our biggest investments in ETO this year!

Dave Shah and Maria Valdivia from the Braille Institute will discuss their re-implementation of ETO. During this process, the new implementation team took a different approach in terms of data collection, reporting, documentation, and training to better match the true organizational need. 4. Roca's Journey to High Performance

Presented by Roca

Roca’s mission is to disrupt the cycle of incarceration and poverty by helping young people transform their lives. It has been a journey of learning supported by a data driven culture that has helped them see overwhelmingly positive outcomes with the most at-risk populations. Today, Roca is running the largest Pay for Success initiative in the country. In this session, Roca’s Director of Evaluation and Learning, Tun Krouch, will be sharing lessons learned and the secrets to their success.

2. Organizational Impact: Why Culture Is So Important

ARCHS knew that inconsistencies in data had a direct, negative impact on their partner organizations and their shared ability to provide for those they served. Wendell E. Kimbrough will describe how his organization designed an innovative, out of the “data box” approach to using Apricot and motivated his team to adopt their new data management system. Spoiler: The positive impacts of having a central data management software in place could be seen at all levels of the organization and within the community.

3. Apricot Secure Web Forms: 7 Use Cases and 6 Tips for Setup

 Presented by Sidekick Solutions

Apricot secure web forms can streamline data entry and connect your Apricot database to external requests and submissions. 4. Simplifying the User Experience in ETO

5. What is a Theory of Change and Why is it Important?

A Theory of Change is the comprehensive description and illustration of how and why a desired change is expected to happen in a particular context. This is a concept that is widely discussed in the nonprofit world, but often misunderstood. In this session, we will be breaking down the specifics of a TOC and, more importantly, sharing with you why it is important for your organization to develop a TOC to reach maximum effectiveness.

1. Change Management - Becoming a Data Driven Organization

Presented by Urban Strategies

Alecia Leonard will showcase how her organization, Urban Strategies, has used ETO to become more strategic with their data-driven service connections and partnerships, all while pushing the industry forward using critical strategies surrounding case management. Urban Strategies will also discuss how they’ve used data to make key organizational decisions.

2. Extending the Capabilities of ETO through APIs

Presented by REACH Edmonton

Lindsay Daniller of REACH Edmonton will present a case study on how her organization used ETO’s API capabilities to collect real-time location data for their Crisis Diversion Initiative. This program provides 24/7 assistance to vulnerable citizens and has significantly reduced reliance on police and emergency medical services. A mobile 24/7 Edmonton App that communicates with ETO through an API, allows front-line staff to quickly identify clients, retrieve history, and upload new information to be shared with other programs collaborating on the same platform. This is a great session for organizations interested in integrating great mobility and collaboration into their service delivery.

3. Maximizing your ETO Software: Advanced Configuration Tips & Tricks

Presented by Treadwell

John Bianchi, Consultant with Treadwell (a Certified Implementation Partner), will walk you through some of the more advanced and hidden configuration tricks within ETO to help you get the most out of ETO.  Topics include Advanced Dashboard Messages, Embedded Reports, and other fancy tips and tricks.  Although not necessary, some knowledge of HTML will help attendees get the most out of this session.

4. Focus on DisABILITIES- A Social Enterprise Solution

 Presented by Blue Star Recycling

Bill Morris will share how Blue Star Recycling’s social enterprise model has produced 30% annual growth during a time when the electronics industry had been in a death spiral (more than 30% of certified e-waste recyclers went under during the same period.) By creating a trifecta of social, environmental, and economic impact, Blue Star has activated an entirely new customer base and redefined recycling as a tangible way to grow social impact in the community. This presentation will include specific information on how to produce significant, measurable, and sustainable impacts in communities based on the successful Blue Star approach.

1. Using Apricot to Improve Data Quality

Presented by Sidekick Solutions

Learn how to maintain data health in Apricot software with both proactive and reactive data quality strategies. Implement in-form solutions like form logic and requirements along with administrator tools like email triggers (notifying an admin of improper data entry) and dynamic data quality reports that can be reviewed on a regular basis. Plus learn tactics you can use to clean up when needed.

2. Getting Front-Line Staff & Managers on the Same Page

Do the managers at your agency complain that they can’t get their staff to enter their data in ETO? Do you hear your staff complain that entering data is just ‘extra’ work and doesn’t benefit their clients at all? This session will focus on leveraging the principles of Performance Management and ETO Results to design reports that lead to better understanding between staff and managers at your agency. ?In this hands-on session, participants will be able to start work on reports they can later implement in their own ETO systems. 3. Tips & Tricks for ETO Administrators

This session will offer tips and tricks for boosting your productivity and effectiveness across ETO. From highlighting underutilized features to providing configuration tips, this session will help ensure you are taking advantage of all your ETO system has to offer!

4. Reflect & Adjust Practices

Presented by Friends of the Children

Friends of the Children will be sharing how they’ve implemented a Reflect & Adjust Practices training to help them improve the services they provide to the hundreds of youth in their program. This methodology provides a structured approach to integrating data evaluation into the work their staff are doing with youth which ensures that they understand what is working, what isn’t, and how to adjust their approach to maximize impact.

2. Maximizing Social Solutions Resources for ETO Customers

3. ETO Touchpoint Best Practices

This session will explore shortcuts and strategies for building and using TouchPoints. Learn how conditional rules, question bank elements, and form security can each streamline data entry and improve data quality.

4. Outcomes Reporting in Apricot

Take your reporting to the next level with outcomes reporting in Apricot! Measure progress over time and track towards individualized and program outcomes. Our training team will walk through the process of building and running outcomes reports within Apricot.

This is the second session of a 2-part series preceded by the Outcomes Maturity Model Part 1. In this session, we will break up into teams and work with you in small groups to provide guidance based on your self-described stage in your organizations journey to high performance.

2. Utilizing Dashboards in ETO

Dashboards are the perfect tool to make essential information front and center. This session will discuss the benefits of using dashboards at every user-level. We’ll also discuss tips and tricks for making the most of your dashboards, including the implementation of dashboard messages, reports, graphs, and customization.

3. Tips & Tricks for Apricot Administrators

This session is a deep dive for Apricot Administrators. From deciding what to measure to designing reports and ensuring data quality, Administrators must be “jacks of all trades” and wizards of time management. This session will offer tips and tricks for boosting your productivity and effectiveness across Apricot.

4. ETO Product Feedback Session

Robert F. Smith

Robert F. Smith is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Vista Equity Partners. He directs Vista’s investment strategy and decisions, firm governance and investor relations. Mr. Smith is also the founding director and President of the Fund II Foundation, which is dedicated to preserving the African-American experience, safeguarding human rights, providing music education, preserving the environment while promoting the benefits of the outdoors, and sustaining critical American values.

 

Mr. Smith is the Chairman of Carnegie Hall and the Chairman of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights. He serves on the Board of Overseers of Columbia Business School, as a Member of the Cornell Engineering College Council, and a Trustee of the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Francisco. He is also an avid fly fisherman.

Kristin Nimsger

Kristin Nimsger is the Chief Executive Officer at Social Solutions. She has an extensive background in the non-profit and foundation space; and is known for driving transformation and growth in technology organizations of all sizes. Ms. Nimsger served as CEO for MicroEdge, LLC., and during her tenure, led the sales of the company to publicly traded Blackbaud, Inc (BLKB) in 2014. Prior to MicroEdge, Kristin oversaw a suite of productivity software products and services for legal professionals at Thomson Reuters. Additionally, she held key leadership roles Kroll Ontrack, ultimately serving as President of the company for 4 years before leading the sale of the company to Providence Equity Partners in 2010.

 

Kristin is passionate about sharing her expertise through service and has been delighted to serve as a board member of service-oriented organizations. These organizations include North Memorial Health Care in Minneapolis, MN; and First Step Initiative, which provides microfinance support to women in the Democratic Republic of Congo to enable them to start their own small businesses and improve their lives and the lives of their families.
